Ponencia de 6th International Conference on Intercultural Education “Education and Health: From a transcultural perspective”The bullying has affected many educational systems. The scientific community has studied the phenomenon and has developed many studies attempting to explain their etiology and operation. Administrations have developed policy and legislative initiatives, to sort out this need and social problems. This paper tries to investigate the bullying phenomenon in Andalusia. Students who are immigrants and who are in the 4th level of Elementary Education, do not know the Spanish language The study took data from Andalusian students who participated in the 2011 edition of the PIRLS assessment (Progress in International Reading Literacy Study). This evaluation has involved more than 4300 students in 150 selected schools. The data are about the level of reading comprehension. Previously, their mother tongues have been identified. The results show a higher rate of bullying in immigrant students than in the rest of the population, a lower yield. However the results don’t imply that the student had been victims of bullying. There is a need to sort out these problems and we must continue investigating them in order to understand and provide solution

Detection of Communities within the Multibody System Dynamics Network and Analysis of Their Relations

    Get PDF
Multibody system dynamics is already a well developed branch of theoretical, computational and applied mechanics. Thousands of documents can be found in any of the well-known scientific databases. In this work it is demonstrated that multibody system dynamics is built of many thematic communities. Using the Elsevier’s abstract and citation database SCOPUS, a massive amount of data is collected and analyzed with the use of the open source visualization tool Gephi. The information is represented as a large set of nodes with connections to study their graphical distribution and explore geometry and symmetries. A randomized radial symmetry is found in the graphical representation of the collected information. Furthermore, the concept of modularity is used to demonstrate that community structures are present in the field of multibody system dynamics. In particular, twenty-four different thematic communities have been identified. The scientific production of each community is analyzed, which allows to predict its growing rate in the next years. The journals and conference proceedings mainly used by the authors belonging to the community as well as the cooperation between them by country are also analyzed

Optimal Phase Swapping in Low Voltage Distribution Networks Based on Smart Meter Data and Optimization Heuristics

In this paper a modified version of the Harmony Search algorithm is proposed as a novel tool for phase swapping in Low Voltage Distribution Networks where the objective is to determine to which phase each load should be connected in order to reduce the unbalance when all phases are added into the neutral conductor. Unbalanced loads deteriorate power quality and increase costs of investment and operation. A correct assignment is a direct, effective alternative to prevent voltage peaks and network outages. The main contribution of this paper is the proposal of an optimization model for allocating phases consumers according to their individual consumption in the network of low-voltage distribution considering mono and bi-phase connections using real hourly load patterns, which implies that the computational complexity of the defined combinatorial optimization problem is heavily increased. For this purpose a novel metric function is defined in the proposed scheme. The performance of the HS algorithm has been compared with classical Genetic Algorithm. Presented results show that HS outperforms GA not only on terms of quality but on the convergence rate, reducing the computational complexity of the proposed scheme while provide mono and bi phase connections. This paper includes partial results of the UPGRID project. Conodont content and stratigraphy of the Llessui Formation from the south central Pyrenees

A synthetic stratigraphic succession of the Upper Silurian Llessui Formation is established according to partial sections and conodont sampling. The lower part of the formation is considered Ludlow, while the uppermost Přídolí conodont O. e. detortus Zone is recognised at the top. Above, the shales, with some limestones of the Aneto Formation, range from the Přídolí to the middle Lochkovian L. omoalpha-A. trigonicus Zone, where the limestones of the Rueda Formation begin. The carbonate facies of the Llessui Fm are similar to the Ockerkalk facies from the Northern Gondwana. The succession is compared with other Pyrenean sequences and related with some Mediterranean neighbouring areas.Ministerio de Educación y Cultura; Project PB98-155

Musical skills in the Spanish Grado university degree in Early Childhood Education. How do Spanish university students view their preparation?

    Get PDF
In Spain, teacher education is regulated on a national level in conjunction with the guidelines that organise general educational levels. Each regional teaching administration nevertheless has a considerable margin to modify those guidelines: universities have a significant influence on how their syllabus is specified. Taking into account the regulation of Early Childhood Education as a career in Madrid universities, we studied how a group of trainees perceived the musical skills they were taught while studying toward a Grado degree in that specialty. We submitted a questionnaire regarding the self-perception of musical skills at the university level of training. The results show significant differences associated with the educational and socio-demographic variables we examined. Although, further study and reflection are required in this field, the implications are already notable and show how future teachers in Early Childhood Education could be better trained

A New Electromechanical Analogy Approach Based on Electrostatic Coupling for Vertical Dynamic Analysis of Planar Vehicle Models

    Get PDF
Article number 9524572Analogies between mechanical and electrical systems have been developed and applied for almost a century, and they have proved their usefulness in the study of mechanical and electrical systems. The development of new elements such as the inerter or the memristor is a clear example. However, new applications and possibilities of using these analogues remain to be explored. In this work, the electrical analogues of different vehicle models are presented. A new and not previously reported analogy between inertial coupling and electrostatic capacitive coupling is found and described. Several examples are provided to highlight the benefits of this analogy. Well-known mechanical systems like the half-car or three three-axle vehicle models are discussed and some numerical results are presented. To the best of the author’s knowledge, such systems were never dealt with by using a full electromechanical analogy. The mechanical equations are also derived and compared with those of the electrical domain for harmonic steady-state analysis.Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades(España) PGC2018-098813-B-C3
